What your child will learn

A beginner class, kept simple. Here's what kids can take away:

1

What AI is (and isn't)

A tool that guesses words, not a person or a friend.

2

Asking good questions

How to ask good questions (prompts) and get kid-friendly explanations.

3

Checking answers

How to check an answer, because AI can be wrong.

4

Learning, not cheating

Using AI to learn, not to cheat: try first, then ask for a hint.

5

Staying safe

What never to type, and why many AI apps are for 13+.

6

A hands-on project

A fun, hands-on project done together with a parent.

How it works

  1. A parent registers.
  2. You get the class link by email.
  3. Your child joins with you on your device.
  4. Questions are answered live.

Kids under 13 don't need their own AI account. Parents stay at the keyboard.

For parents: safety and privacy

Parents register, not kids. We ask for the parent's name and email (phone is optional). Kids don't need to share their name, photo or school.

FAQs

What ages is this AI class for?

Kids ages 8–12, with a parent beside them. It's built for beginners.

When is the next class?

Thursday, December 10, 2026, at 7:00 PM ET. Class dates are posted on this page.

Who teaches it?

Nate & Jenifer (Nate and Jenifer Armstrong), hosts of Faith, Family & AI.

Why does a parent have to register?

Because the class is for children, a parent or guardian signs up and stays with their child. U.S. law (the FTC's COPPA rule) puts parents in control of what information is collected online from children under 13, so we collect the parent's details, not the child's.

Does my child need a ChatGPT or Gemini account?

No. ChatGPT and Gemini require users to be 13 or older on their own accounts, so in this class parents stay at the keyboard.
